Social Networking Sites for Business? Can You Make Money?

Ojeez.com- I belong but only get invitations from guys over 60. I am not sure what I am attracting there but It's not working for business.

Fast PItch- This site was recommended to me by my friend Maria Simone. She pointed out that you can have unlimited news releases, I used that feature a lot. I also met a great person who was on the show. Helene Wasserman- visit www.wrightplacetv.com to see it online.
They also have a webinar on how to use it.

My space- I only have about 15 friends on there,2 of which I actually converse with on a fairly regular basis. My audience is not on my space, and clearly, my friends aren't either.

Twitter- a time waster, I am not sure anyone is fascinated with what I am doing.

Plaxo- my contacts there communicate well, good dialogs happen when I participated in a poll and then made comments. Its simple and I don't get an email from them every 5 minutes. Maybe the blue is soothing to me.

Linked in- you can ask a questions that experts will answer.Thats a cool feature. They tell you how many people looked at your profile and how many times you came up in their search.I enjoy answering questions online, but I dont think I have really worked LINKED in well.

Facebook- honestly I dont know what the deal is with them. I could not register my name- so I am in there as Lacy Wright, needless to say, I hardly use that. I do belong to a group on there but they are from a different country and might thing Lacy is my nick name. It's not... so don't call me that. I tried to correct it by sending a letter to admin, and no answer came. I guess it's free 'cause there is no customer service.

Digg- I just joined to post to someone else's blog. I have not really used it or DUGG other people's site. I'll have to read more on it.

Monkey Brain- I started a fight, we'll see who comes, so far, nobody! I guess it wasn't an extraordinary position to take but we'll see.

Squidoo- I worked on my site there a little more, my lens is about the show. I am not sure that anyone who has ever talked to me has seen that lens. But for some reason, I have a not so bad ranking on that site. I am not passionate about it, but it's another site that can point back to yours.

Meet UP- every meet up meeting was canceled so I never participated and now have lost interest because my personal vision has changed. I am not longer interested in just local events.

SO bottom line, for me, money is being made at Fast Pitch
I am sure I belong to a few more I have forgotten about but thats fine, If I come across them, I blog about it.

Golden Tickets for everyone

I just finished Golden Ticket by Burchard. Interesting book, kinda, sorta
Ok, I was not memorized by the storyline but I did learn specificially 2 things that
the author was not including in the theme. He added the information to explain what he was talking about. But, it gave me a clue to some other information
I was looking for. It was worth it for that reason.

I am an avid reader so I read the book in 2 days.
But thats just my style.

Reading - I love reading and I love books so as long as I learn one
thing, I have not wasted my time

Most people have great ideas, but you need to know how to get them out of your head and into the real world. In the world is where your ideas help people, where they make money and where they make a difference!

Hidden Profits in Gift Cards- Shame on Walmart!

Walmart sold Millions of dollars in gift cards for the holidays.
But, when people came to stores in buy stuff on sale after christmas
they could not use those gifts cards because Wal mart could not process them.

Hmmmm, I do not buy this. They now have millions of dollars that people can not spend.
They made people pay cash or credit.

Getting a gift card for your business could be a great move.
25% of gift cards are never used, so its free money.
Walmart now has free money and is also making interest on that money
in their bank. I think your business would do well if people just came by and
gave you money and you never had to provide a product or service.


Shame on Walmart for scamming people who are already financially
strapped.

Their PR people have had no comment. That is not good.
If your business has a mistake, you should have a reason articulated by
someone trained for the media to talk about it. I think this mistake will
help Walmart make the profit they need this year.


We'll see how this plays out, I wonder if anyone will questions it.

If You Dont Stop Using Free Emails Now, You will hate yourself later!

Pet Peeve.

Someone has a business and a website , they email me or hand me their business card.
Their website says: www.xxxx.com but their email is hotmail, yahoo, msn or gmail.com

HELLO?
if you have a website, then you should have an email address that goes with the website!
Keep your free emails for your junk mail but in business use your website email.

It's called branding. And Frankly, why are you advertising aol, yahoo, gmail, or hotmail for free? They are not paying you, but you are giving them space on your business card!

Stop it people, just stop it right now.
It does not help your branding and it shows me you have not really learned enough about marketing.

Yes, I love marketers who give me their card with aol, yahoo, msn or hotmail.
It really excludes them from working with me.

And stop using free Vista Cards too!
I love Vista Printing, but go ahead and splurge for a business card that says you believe in yourself and can afford a business card. Buy the Vista Printing Products and pay for them, they have some good stuff!

to do. Yikes!
I can not believe I waited like this, I was the queen of
pre shopping, I usually finished with the thanksgiving sales.

Oh well, gotta get back in there.

The 9 Things You Must do This Year to Make Money

Publicity is a tricky area for small business. You may not have a lot of money to spend yet you need big results. You may have a nice size budget but are not sure where to spend it to make the most impact. A small business owner cannot event get advice without paying high fees. Here are 9 things you must do to make business. Start from here and move your business forward!


1. Get a real news release written by a professional. Many copy writers will tell you they write news releases. If they were good at it, they would be in publicity, not copy writing. Being a good at copywriting does not automatically make you a good publicity writer, just like being a good driver does not make you a good NASCAR driver. Get a pro and pay the fees for them.


2. Make sure your news releases are going out locally on a regular basis. Your local media should know about your first, keep them in the loop. That will help you spring to regional and national prominence.

3. Create events. Not just a sale, or the tired “you buy my stuff and I will give some money to charity”, do something worth talking about. Impress the media. Unless you are giving large sums of money to a charity, the media doesn’t care and the public doesn’t believe you.

4. Let your entire staff know about the publicity going out and what their response should be. Nothing is more frustrating than calling to get more information and no one knows what is going on.

5. Recycle some publicity during the year. You can repackage some things and use them for a new season, holiday or event.

6. Pay Per Interviews are not all bad. People use to tell you never pay for an interview. In today’s competitive world, you may need that edge. Do some due diligence and check out the source then make the most of it be leveraging someone else’s network with a paid interview.

7. Set aside some money from your marketing budget to get your publicity done

8. Create a mastermind group with other businesses for publicity ideas

9. Create your own personal list from Bacons Media Source. Your personal list of contacts will be a gold mind.
