I went into Wells Fargo bank today and it was clearly dress down day. The people in the bank were in tennis shoes, baggy jeans, too tight tees and my teller actually had on a wife beater with red skull and cross bones. The guy sitting at the loan desk had on a suit but the rest of them look like they just came in from a picnic.

I don't bank at Wells Fargo, thats a story for another day, however I wonder what this is doing to their brand. What are they trying to say with the dress down friday? Why do they have it? If you are dealing with my money, I want you to look like you deal with money. I think it is not good brand management. Since you have one day a week where you are relaxed, are you relaxed about my money too?

Nice blog, Dr. Wright. I don't mind dress down day. What you wear has nothing to do with your ability to tally money. Think about the employees, many of whom work 6 days a week. For some it is a financial hardship to stay in suits and hosiery all week long.

I see your profile is for women 25-55. That is plain discriminatory. I just turned 55. When I turn 56 is there going to be a difference in info I want to read from you? Guess I have 11 months left to read you...lol. Keep up the good work. (And I am only joking...I know about target demos. It just shocked me to realize I am falling off the age range!)

I belong to Wells Fargo, and I must of missed the dress down day at my branch. It's always good to look your best, as you never know who you meet. Remember, you can only make a first impression once, and you don't know who you're making a first impression to. That person could be the one that kicks your business into high gear.
